PURPOSE: An organic EL(Electro-Luminescence) device and a fabricating method thereof are provided to improve characteristics of the organic EL device by discharging effectively a gas generated from a process for adhering a canister on a transparent substrate. CONSTITUTION: An anode(2), a hole transport layer(3), a light emitting layer(4), an electron transport layer(5), and a cathode(6) are sequentially formed on a surface of a transparent substrate(1). An organic EL layer is formed by the hole transport layer(3), the light emitting layer(4), and the electron transport layer(5). A metallic canister(70) is adhered on the transparent substrate(1) by a sealing adhesive(8). The anode(2), the organic EL layer(3,4,5), and the cathode(6) are protected from the outside by the canister(70). An exhaust portion(71) is formed in the canister(70). A sealant(72) is formed on an outer side of the exhaust portion(71).
