The invention relates to polymer dispersions, methods for their preparation and their use. The polymer dispersions are prepared in a radical polymerization reaction which is initiated by a combination of different initiators. The polymer dispersions are useful inter alia as flocculants, dewatering (drainage) aids and retention aids in papermaking.
