The exchanger has a monoblock tunnel type distribution case including a collector wall i.e. collector plate (20), provided with homologous orifices (46) that receive ends of parallel tubes (12). The wall has an outer surface (42) that is bent towards the tubes. A sealing joint (40) has openings (44) that receive the ends. The joint is intercalated between the wall and the ends and is arranged against the surface. The openings have continuous annular inner lips (48) and a throttling (50) on their inner walls, where the lips are projected radially towards the interior of the openings. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a heat exchanger.
