The present invention relates to a left and right independent steering control method and a system thereof, which can control steering of each wheel by selecting a steering control mode adaptively to vehicle state information, by selecting the steering control mode of the wheel on the basis of steering angle information, vehicle speed information and actual steered angle information of each wheel inputted from a driver, and controlling a steering angle of the wheel according to the selected steering control mode. Particularly, the left and right independent steering control method and the system thereof according to the present invention select a normal steering control mode or a fault steering control mode on the basis of the actual steered angle information of each wheel, and control the steering angle of each wheel on the basis of the inputted steering angle information and the vehicle speed information in case of the normal steering control mode, and control the steering angle of another side wheel which is not out of order, on the basis of the current steering angle information of the fault wheel in case of the malfuntional steering control mode. |
