A method of fuel economy improvement for an automatic transmission vehicle is disclosed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method of fuel economy improvement for an automatic transmission vehicle, comprises the following steps: a step of determining whether a demand for increasing engine torque from a transmission control unit (TCU) exists or not; a step of increasing target engine torque when a demand for increasing engine torque from the TCU exists; and a step of making an increasing amount of the target engine torque into zero when there is no demand for increasing engine torque or when notified that a lock-up is completed from the TCU. |
