PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing density irregularity due to speed variations of an intermediate transfer body when drum photoreceptors having different outer diameters are used and the intermediate transfer body is cleaned by an electrostatic cleaning method.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes first photoreceptors 1Y to 1C having a first outer diameter, a second photoreceptor 1K having a second outer diameter larger than the first outer diameter, an intermediate transfer belt 7, first primary transfer rollers 5Y to 5C, a second primary transfer roller 5K, and cleaning means 9 to electrostatically remove a toner depositing on the intermediate transfer belt 7; and the apparatus can carry out a first image forming mode in which the first and second photoreceptors are brought into contact with the intermediate transfer belt, and a second image forming mode in which the first photoreceptors are separated from the intermediate transfer belt. The image forming apparatus is configured in such a manner that a pressing force of the second primary transfer roller 5K to the second photoreceptor 1K is greater than a pressing force of the first primary transfer rollers 5Y to 5C to their respective first photoreceptors 1Y to 1C. |
