PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the rotation angle and tilt angle of a position indicator satisfactorily.SOLUTION: A position detector receives an AC signal from a pen-like position indicator with a sensor, and detects a position indicated on the sensor by the position indicator. The position indicator comprises: at least three electrodes electrically separated from each other at a tip of a housing, and disposed surrounding a certain position in a shaft core direction of the housing; and a control circuit selectively supplying the AC signal to the three electrodes, and controlling the AC signal to be sent by generating identification information for identifying the electrode to which the AC signal is selectively supplied. The position detector comprises an angle information calculation circuit calculating at least one information of the rotation angle and the tilt angle of the position indicator on the sensor on the basis of the AC signal received by the sensor and sent from the position indicator and the identification information. |
