PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a high-capacity sodium-containing transition metal oxide which enables the suppression of gelation of a positive electrode mixture slurry.SOLUTION: A sodium-containing transition metal oxide expressed by the formula (1), NaMeO(element Me represents at least two kinds of elements selected from a group consisting of Ni, Ti, Mn, Fe and Co, and includes at least Ni and/or Fe) is manufactured by a method comprising: the first step in which a sodium-containing compound and a compound including the element Me are mixed into a mixture in such a proportion that the atomic ratio of Na to the element Me is smaller than xby 3-5 atom%, where xrepresents a stoichiometric ratio of Na to the element Me; and the second step in which the mixture obtained by the first step is sintered to produce the sodium-containing transition metal oxide. |
