PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix consisting of low molecular weight components for use as a self-eliminating coating for implantable medical devices, wherein the matrix coatings enhance biocompatibility and control the local delivery of biologically active agents.SOLUTION: This invention relates to an implantable medical device, comprising an oligomer having a structure expressed by formula (I), wherein a matrix coating consists of components having a molecular weight of less than 20 kDa. (oligo is an oligomeric segment; Bio is a biologically active agent; FT is an oligofluoro group; Link B is each independently an organic moiety covalently bound to oligo, FT, and/or Bio; a is an integer greater than 0; b and c are each independently integers greater than or equal to 0; and d is 0 or 1). |
