Disclosed is a pedestrian detection method and device , wherein the method includes: processing a monitored video sequence to obtain the foreground image of the video sequence; base on the foreground image, obtaining an edge image of a selected area; processing the edge points of the edge image to obtain a outline image to be detected; according to a preset pedestrian outline cyclostyle, performing a pedestrian detection on the outline image to be detected. By means of the invention, resolved is the problem that the detection result is inaccurate, herein the problem results from the method for detecting a pedestrian in the correlation field without considering the edge image of the object edge , so as to realize the effect that the detection result is relatively accurate. |
