摘要 Provided are a variable torque compensator and a robot arm using the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the robot arm comprises: a first link; a second link combined to be rotated with respect to the first link; a driving motor part formed to relatively rotate the second link with respect to the first link; an elastic member whose one end is combined with the second link; a gear member formed in the other end of the elastic member; a compensation motor part engaged with the gear member, formed to adjust a rotary angle or a location of the gear member relatively with respect to the first link, and combined with the first link; and a controlling part for controlling operation of the driving motor part and the compensation motor part. According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided are the variable torque compensator and the robot arm using the same capable of flexibly responding to various torque applied to a robot arm, and preventing a motor for driving a robot arm from being damaged by load applied to the robot arm.
