<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the trailing end of paper from curling in the direction of conveyance due to nip pressure. <P>SOLUTION: Paper with developer transferred thereto is guided to an area between a heat roll 68 and a pressure roll 70 by a guide 72 designed such that a movable part 82 guides paper in a direction almost the same as the direction in which a non-movable part 80 guides the paper. A control section 66 projects the movable part 82 into a conveyance path 32 with a prescribed timing during a period after the leading end of the paper in the direction of the conveyance reaches a sensor 78 till the trailing end of the paper in the direction of the conveyance passes through a transfer nip area 43. The guide 72 presses the paper by the movable part 82 projecting in the conveyance path 32 and guides it to an area between the heat roll 68 and the pressure roll 70 while reducing curling of the free end of the paper in the direction of the conveyance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
