<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure detection device capable of performing failure detection without executing a special operation for detecting a failure, even when a plurality of components are operated simultaneously. <P>SOLUTION: Some of a plurality of operation patterns set beforehand is selected through a plurality of driving drivers, and ON/OFF control of each driving mechanism is executed corresponding to the selected operation pattern, and the total of driving currents of the plurality of driving drivers is detected at the execution time of the ON/OFF control by a control means. A normal current waveform showing a change with the passage of time of the total of the driving currents when the plurality of driving mechanisms are driven normally respectively is stored beforehand in a current value storage part 162 relative to each operation pattern, and a detected current waveform showing a change with the passage of time of the driving current detected by a current value detection part 160 is compared with the normal current waveform corresponding to the operation pattern, and when the detected current waveform is different from the normal current waveform, it is determined that a failure is generated in the driving mechanism. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
