PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell storage system capable of reducing a risk of losing all of same kind of cells, even when an accident such as natural disaster occurs.SOLUTION: A cell storage system S comprises: a device 11 for reading each container ID from each of recording media provided on plural containers; a device 10 for sending the plural container IDs read from the device 11; a device 40 for allocating the plural container IDs received from the device 10 to an ID of two or more devices 22, associating the container IDs and the ID of the devices 22 to which the container IDs are allocated and storing them in a database; a device 21 for reading the container ID from the recording medium disposed on the container which is going to be stored in the device 22; and a device 20 for sending the container ID read from the device 21 to the device 40. The device 40 is configured to determine whether or not the ID of the devices 22 which are going to store the containers matches the ID of the device 22 associated with the container IDs received from the device 20 and recorded, based on the information recorded in the database.
