METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUSLY OPTIMIZING THE SELECTION OF MATERIALS AND BLEND RATIOS IN MIXTURE DESIGN

A new application of material and blend ratio selection is proposed for the design of new materials. The invention consists of: (1) design of blending experiments using raw material property data information, (2) mixture modeling using raw material property data information and (3) simultaneous optimization of the selection of the best raw materials and their blend ratios using the mixture models. This invention provides a new strategy to speedily achieve target products having specified properties wit h minimum experiments and minimum total material costs.
