PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock ring for a joint that can be used for connecting both a grooved pipe and a groove-less pipe to be connected, capable of firmly connecting the joint with the pipe to be connected while preventing damage in both cases of the grooved and groove-less pipes, facilitating insertion of the pipe to be connected, and stabilizing the pulling-preventive force, and a joint using the lock ring.SOLUTION: This lock ring for a joint is constituted in such a way that a plurality of balls 13 buried in a substantially equally spaced apart relation on a circumference of an annular ball retainer 12 are protruded toward a centripetal direction, recesses are alternately arranged from both ends between the adjoining balls in the ball retainer, one of the recesses is formed to be recessed toward the end to form an opening and at the same time a connecting part for partially connecting the openings is integrally formed with the ball retainer, and the connecting part is arranged on a line of arrangement of the balls buried in the ball retainer to connect the openings. |
