PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet discharge device that allows work for conveying a sheet from a loading base to be safely performed while being continuously operated.SOLUTION: A sheet discharge device 130 comprises: guard bars 146A and 146B that can be arranged at a partitioned position Pp between a sheet discharge chain 134 and sheet discharge bases 135A and 135B; light receivers 152A and 152B that detect entry of loading positions II and III into an inner space; limit switches 153A and 153B that detect that the guard bars 146A and 146B are arranged at the partitioned position Pp; and a control device 150 that, if beam of light emitters 151A and 151B is blocked when the limit switches 153A and 153b do not detect that the guard bars 146A and 146B are arranged at the partitioned position Pp, performs control so that operation of a motor 158 of the device is stopped, and when the limit switches 153A and 153B detect that the guard bars 146A and 146B are arranged at the partitioned position Pp, allows the motor 158 of the device to be operated independently from the light receivers 152A and 152B. |
