An objective of the present invention is to provide a display device and a television receiver device which are capable of reliably blocking heat conduction from a light source to an optical sheet, and of alleviating unevenness in brightness of a display panel. Provided is a display device, comprising: a display panel having a display region in the central part thereof which displays a video on a front surface side and a non-display region in the periphery of the display region; a light output plate which is positioned to a rear surface side of the display panel, faces the display panel, and emits light; an optical sheet which is positioned between the light output plate and the display panel; and a support part which is positioned between the optical sheet and the light output plate, and which supports an edge portion of the optical sheet. The optical sheet faces the display region and the non-display region. At least a portion of the support part is located further toward the display region side than a boundary between the non-display region and the display region. At a portion in the support part facing the display region is disposed a panel-side slanted surface which faces the display region and is slanted toward the light output plate from the edge part side of the display region toward the central part side thereof.
