The invention relates to new methods for producing bis[3-isopropenyl-a,a-dimethylbenzyl]carbodiimide, the bis[3-isopropenyl-a,a-dimethylbenzyl]carbodiimide prepared using said method, and the use thereof as an anti-hydrolysis agent in polyurethane (PU)-based systems, preferably thermoplastic TPU, PU adhesives, PU casting resins, PU elastomers or PU foams.
