PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device or the like having good color reproducibility and power saving property.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal cell unit 10 having a color filter 4 having a transparent substrate 1 and a color layer 2 formed on the transparent substrate 1, a counter substrate 5, and a liquid crystal layer 6 formed between the color filter 4 and the counter substrate 5; and a backlight unit 20 having a blue light-emitting element 21, and a green quantum dot 22 and a red quantum dot 23 or a red fluorescent material which are disposed on an emission optical path of the blue light-emitting element 21. The color layer 2 has a red color layer 2R, a green color layer 2G, and a blue color layer 2B; and the red color layer 2R, the green color layer 2G, and the blue color layer 2B contain the respective specific coloring materials. |
