PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a baseplate structure and a baseplate for an optical module capable of improving yield by devising a clad part to reduce an area reflecting curing light.SOLUTION: The baseplate structure includes: a baseplate 1; an internal waveguide (light-sensitive resin structure) 16 which is formed along a groove 1a on the surface of the baseplate 1, and a width W1 of which is set to be smaller than a width W2 between upper ends 1g of inclined planes 1c of side faces of the groove 1a. The internal waveguide 16 has a clad part 18 covering a core part 17 in the waveguide forming groove 1a. The width of the clad part 18 is arranged so that at least part along the waveguide forming groove 1a is smaller than the width W2 between the upper ends 1g of the inclined planes 1c of the side faces of the waveguide forming groove 1a.
