PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of achieving excellent display qualities while suppressing influences of liquid crystal molecules in abnormal alignment.SOLUTION: An array substrate AR includes an arrangement of a plurality of pixels having a first electrode E1 and second electrodes E2. The second electrodes E2 are pixel electrodes, which are disposed on a liquid crystal layer LQ side of the first electrode E1 interposing a third insulating film 26. The second electrodes E2 include a plurality of slit-like openings formed therein. A counter substrate CT includes projections T protruding toward the array substrate AR; and the projections T are disposed on the counter substrate CT to oppose to each other along a space between adjoining pixel electrodes. The projections T are disposed to intersect lines extending in a longitudinal direction of the slit-like openings of the second electrodes E2. The projections T are formed to be in contact with or close to the array substrate AR at two or more positions in the plurality of pixels.
