<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material with advantages such as excellent color developing properties, reduced in texture fog to dry heat and wet heat in an undeveloped color part (an unused part) and excellent developed color image shelf stability. <P>SOLUTION: This thermal recording material has a thermal color developing layer formed on a support and containing a normally colorless or pale-color color developing compound and a developing compound which can develop a color in the color developing compound by heat.
