<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of quick processing without pollution in an apparatus main body by avoiding blowout of toner clouds from a cleaner housing when separating a cleaner blade or a seal from an image carrier surface, to prevent leakage of toner. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus wherein a toner image formed on a surface of a photoreceptor drum is transferred to a recording paper through an intermediate transfer belt 16 and the cleaner blade 22 and a seal member 23 are separated from and brought into contact with a surface of the intermediate transfer belt to scrape off/recover toner remaining on the surface so as to prevent leakage of the toner to the outside, a counter member 66 is made to face a seal support member 62 which supports a conductive seal member and has an air hole 65, and a plus voltage higher than a voltage of the intermediate transfer belt is supplied to the counter member to generate an electric field E which causes toner having a minus potential in a cleaner housing 63 to be attracted to the counter member through the air hole. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
