<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method of high cost-utility for detecting a rotor position for electric drive which is operated over a wide range of speed. <P>SOLUTION: The electric machine is controlled, by using combination of a physical rotor position transducer and software position detection algorithm. The physical transducer reduces the number of sensors, consequently only the information that is high speed and accurate is obtained. The software algorithm is executed by a low cost processor which cannot provide sufficient information at a high speed. A controller combines information from two position detectors for generating economical drive to be operated, extending over a large speed range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
