A wind direction meter (1) has the following plurality of sensors (2) and a control unit (3). A sensor (2) has a first surface (2a) and first and second interlayer connection members (21a, 21b) configured from different metals or semiconductors. Further, the first and second interlayer connection members (21a, 21b) are provided with thermoelectric conversion elements (21) for generating electrical output when there are temperature differences between the first ends (21aa, 21ba) and second ends (21ab, 21bb) of the first and second interlayer connection members (21a, 21b). Additionally, a sensor (2) produces electrical output when surrounding air having a temperature that has been changed by a heater (22) is moved by wind and there are temperature differences between the first ends (21aa, 21ba) and second ends (21ab, 21bb) of the first and second interlayer connection members (21a, 21b). The control unit (3) calculates a wind direction on the basis of differences in this output. As a result, the wind direction meter (1) makes it possible to detect the wind direction of weak wind. |
