A journal search device and method are disclosed. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a journal name search word is derived by separating an inputted journal name into words through an identifier, and a journal name code indicating a representative journal name is extracted using the derived journal name search word, thereby enabling a corresponding journal to be effectively retrieved even when various sets of different journal names are inputted by a user.
