OPTICAL TRACKING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CALCULATING ORIENTATION OF MARKER PART OF OPTICAL TRACKING SYSTEM

An optical tracking system comprises a marker part, an imaging part, and a processing part. The marker part includes a pattern having particular information and a first lens which is spaced apart from the pattern and has a first focal length. The imaging part includes a second lens having a second focal length, and an imaging unit which is spaced apart from the second lens and has an image of a pattern imaged by the first and second lenses. The processing part determines a posture of the marker part from a coordinate conversion equation between a coordinate on a pattern surface of the pattern and a pixel coordinate on an image of the pattern, and tracks the marker part by using the posture of the determined marker part. Accordingly, the marker part can be precisely tracked in a simpler and easier method.
