In order to provide a negative electrode material for lithium ion secondary batteries that achieves both high capacity and rapid charge and discharge characteristics, a nano-carbon composite (7) is used as the negative electrode material, the nano-carbon composite (7) including low crystalline carbon (1), a composite in which all or a part of a mixture of silicon oxide (2) containing silicon nanoparticles (3) and fibrous carbon (4) is coated with a carbon film (5), and a carbon nano-horn aggregate (6) supported on the surface of the composite. |
