A method for unlocking a touchscreen terminal, comprising: when a contact with the touchscreen is detected, displaying an emulated fingerprint capturing area on the touchscreen (S20); detecting a press contact with the emulated fingerprint capturing area and acquiring the position of a first contact point and the contact area of the press click (S30); and, if the detected first contact point falls in a preset area in the emulated fingerprint capturing area and the contact area falls in a preset range of areas, switching the terminal to an unlocked state of a user interface (S40). The method and a device for unlocking the touchscreen terminal emulate the touchscreen capturing a fingerprint for unlocking, provide a great degree of concealment, increase the degree of security and fun of unlocking, and enhance user experience with touchscreen unlocking operations.
