PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an out-of-standard function while enhancing user's convenience.

SOLUTION: In communication between an image supplying apparatus and image printer including a photo direct print function, for example, a procedure is present to confirm presence/no presence of support by a standardized function. By utilizing the procedure, information regarding the presence/no presence of support of a service providing a cooperative function different from the standardized function is then exchanged. Thus, the out-of-standard function can be utilized while maintaining compatibility with equipment which does not support the service providing the cooperative function different from the standardized function.
