This welding parameter derivation device is provided to a welding machine that has a torch provided with a weaving mechanism, and is designed to derive welding parameters in accordance with the cross-sectional shape of a weld portion of a new base material. The device has a database in which welding parameter data is stored, and a welding parameter computation unit for computing welding parameters for the shape of a groove or joint of a new base material. On the basis of past welding parameter data for a shape similar to that of a groove or joint of a new base material, and input data pertaining to the specifications of the welding machine, the welding parameter computation unit derives welding parameter data for the new base material, taking into account at least one parameter from among a parameter of the cross-sectional area of the weld portion formed on the new base material, the bead height of the weld portion, the amount of heat inputted to the new base material, and a torch weaving parameter. |
