OSCILLOMETRIC METHOD FOR ASSESSING CONDITION OF ENDOTHELIUM

The invention relates to methods for studying the functions of the endothelium. A method includes the following steps: applying a pneumatic cuff onto a portion of an extremity; increasing the pressure in the cuff until systolic pressure is reached; increasing the pressure in the cuff above systolic pressure; using at least one sensor for recording the value of the pressure in the cuff and for recording pulsations of the volume; determining, before and after increasing the pressure in the cuff, the correlation between the amplitude of the pulsations of a volume of an artery to be studied and the magnitude of transmural pressure in a given portion of the artery; assessing the condition of endothelial cells in accordance with the determined correlation. The invention increases the accuracy of determining the condition of endothelial cells of an arterial wall.
