FIELD: transport.SUBSTANCE: claimed system (100) with device (102) running on two or more wheels (w1-w4) on track composed by rails (112, 114) has two opposite sides (e1, e2) staying on tow or more wheels (w1-w4). Device (102) comprises detectors (d1-d4), at least one per every side of device (e1, e2) located in known spatial positional relationship with wheel (w1-w4). Said detectors generate the signal for control unit (140) composed of measured crosswise spacing of the wheel specific part from rail (112, 114). Signals received from detectors (d1-d4) are related with coordinate data describing a definite position over the track length whereat measured is the crosswise spacing of the wheel (w1-w4) specific part from rail (112, 114). Signals received from detectors (d1-d4) related with spatial positional relationship with wheel (w1-w4) on different sides (e1, e2) of device (102) are used to generate the attribute representing the current dimensional consistency of device (102) and the track.
