FIELD: electrical engineering; protective circuit-opening devices. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed contact system has fixed and movable contacts, fixed-contact arcing horn, and series blow-out coil. Arcing horn is electrically insulated from fixed contact; one lead of series blow-out coil is series-connected to fixed contact and its other lead is connected to arcing horn.
