Disclosed is a method to operate an electric furnace utilizing economical slag ball. Provided is a method to operate the electric furnace comprising: a step of creating molten steel by inserting scrap metal into the electric arc furnace; a step of infusing oxygen into the molten steel; and a step of injecting slag balls with FeO content into the electric arc furnace to foam slag positioned on a top of the molten steel.
