The light emitting device prevents cracks from being generated in a high-temperature and high-humidity environment. The light emitting device has a pair of bonding layers between a pair of flexible substrates, a pair of insulating layers formed between the bonding layers, and a light emitting element formed between the insulating layers. At least one of the insulating layers has compression stress. At least one of the bonding layers has a glass transition temperature of 60°C or more. At least one of the substrates has a coefficient of linear expansion of 60 ppm/K or less.
