<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device capable of efficiently discharging heat emitted by a light-emitting element to the outside of the light-emitting device. <P>SOLUTION: A light-emitting element 3 is mounted on a via conductor 4a arranged on the first surface 2a side front surface of a base 2. An upper electrode is connected to a wiring pattern 7 on the base via a wire 8. The via conductor penetrating a portion between the first surface 2a and the second surface 2b of the base 2 and has a conductive portion 4b on the second surface 2b side of the base having a difference.
