The invention relates to a method for operating a dual-belt calibrator (1) for producing hollow profiles with flat outer walls or chord members (13, 14) and struts (15, 16) that interconnect said members. The profiles are produced by the extrusion of at least one thermoplastic plastic by means of at least one forming die (31) and are then passed together through a nip (23) of the dual-belt calibrator (1) in order to form hollow profile strands (2, 3). According to the invention, mouldings that run in the strand direction (8) and that have complementary forms (9 - 12) are formed on or in the lateral end faces (4 - 7) of the hollow profile strands (2, 3) during extrusion. |
