<p>The invention relates to a method for polymerizingε-caprolactam by using precatalysts in the form of protected N-heterocyclic carbenes. The precatalyst can easily be mixed withε-caprolactam and packaged as a polymerization-ready mixture. The advantage of the invention is in particular that the active species is not produced until the active species is used, i.e., when the mixture ofε-caprolactam and precatalyst are to be polymerized.</p> |
