<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side airbag device capable of restraining an interfering article from being pushed forward by an airbag even when the interfering article exists at a position where the airbag inflates and deploys. <P>SOLUTION: This side airbag device has the first airbag 21 and the second airbag 22 arranged side by side in the vehicle width direction between an occupant and a door D and to inflate and deploy toward the front from the rear of the vehicle in collision of the vehicle. The first airbag 21 inflates and deploys in correspondence with a body portion including at least a waist part of the occupant. The second airbag 22 is furnished with a waist inflation part 23 in correspondence with the waist part of the occupant and at least a front end of which is constituted free to be separated from the first airbag 21 and inflates and deploys to a center of a vehicle room in the vehicle width direction of the first airbag 21.
