A variable displacement compressor having refrigerant flowing function in the driving shaft is provided to prevent the temperature rise of the swash plate chamber and maintain excellent lubrication by ensuring smooth flow of refrigerant from the swash plate chamber to the suction chamber in spite of the maximum inclination of the swash plate. A variable displacement compressor includes a driving shaft(140) in which a through hole(142) is formed in the longitudinal direction as a part of the additional ventilating passage. The through hole is penetrated by a side connection path(143) formed on the side of the driving shaft. When the inclination angle of a swash plate(150) exceeds the specific angle, a reciprocating sleeve(148) opens the side connection path.
