<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle alternator and a rectifier, capable of efficiently cooling a rectifying element in the rectifier in a limited space in an engine room. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle alternator includes: frames 1, 2 for supporting a stator 5; a rectifier 3 having an electrically connected rectifying element 3c for rectifying the AC power outputted from a stator winding 4a and provided with heat dissipation plates 3a, 3b for cooling the rectifying element 3c; and a fan for flowing a cooling air into the rotor 5 through the rectifier 3. A plurality of heat dissipation fins 3f extending in the substantially axial center direction of the rotor 5 are provided on the heat dissipation plates 3a, 3b, a gap is provided in the substantially axial direction between each of the adjacent heat dissipation fins of the plurality of heat dissipation fins 3f, and the plurality of heat dissipation fins 3f consist of at least two kinds of heat dissipation fins having different lengths in the substantially axial center direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
