<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a pulse input device by which the optimal accuracy and the optimal response time can be obtained according to a frequency of an input signal. <P>SOLUTION: The pulse input device detects the input signal as a pulse signal and notifies a host system of the frequency of the pulse signal. The pulse input device is provided with: an edge count means for counting the number of pulses of the pulse signal for prescribed time in edge timing of a rising edge or a falling edge of the pulse signal to hold the number of pulses as an edge count value; an edge interval measurement means for measuring interval time with the previous edge timing in the edge timing, integrating the interval time for the prescribed time to hold the interval time as an edge interval value; and a frequency calculation means for dividing the edge count value by the edge interval value to calculate the frequency of the pulse signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
