<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform high-efficiency encoding on a moving image varying in luminance with time like a fade image and a dissolve image. <P>SOLUTION: A variable length decoder 303 decodes encoded data 300 including a prediction error signal representing an error of a predicted image signal with respect to a moving image signal having a luminance signal and two color difference signals, moving image vector information 414, at least one reference image number, and index information 415 indicating a combination of predictive parameters prepared for each of the luminance signal and the two color difference signals. A frame memory/predicted image generator 308 generates a predicted image signal 412 in accordance with the reference picture number and the predictive parameter of the combination indicated by the decoded index information, and generates a reconstructed moving image signal by using the prediction error signal and the predicted image signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
