According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method used by an electronic device to execute an application includes the operations of: executing a transmission target application during a call; displaying a call screen and a transmission target application screen when the transmission target application is executed; sensing a touch input moving an object in the transmission target application screen to the call screen; executing a transmission application based on the information of the moved object when the touch input is sensed; using the transmission application based on the information of the other party of the call to generate a transmission message attached with the selected object; and transmitting the transmission message to the other party.
