According to an embodiment of the present invention, a mobile terminal for a hearing impaired user can compensate for subsequent language disorder elements as well as hearing loss elements. The mobile terminal includes: a microphone unit for collecting an external sound; a display unit; a vibration generation unit; a first control unit which controls the display unit to display predetermined notification information or the vibration generation unit to generate a notification vibration in a predetermined pattern when the sound collected by the microphone unit matches preset sound information; a speaker unit; a macro storage unit which stores one or more macro items corresponding to predetermined language information; a touch information reception unit which receives touch information input by the user; a location change information reception unit which receives location change information input by the user; and a second control unit which controls the speaker unit to output the predetermined language information corresponding to the macro items or controls the display unit to display the predetermined language information corresponding to the macro items when the touch information or location change information corresponding to the macro items is received through the touch information reception unit or the location change information reception unit. Accordingly, mobile terminal can effectively compensate for the hearing loss elements and the language disorder elements with a simple user operation executed by the hearing impaired user.
