<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate such adverse effects as impairment of taste of boiled rice with soup or oil coming out of foodstuffs and burning of the bottom of an inner pot by constituting a steamer with a portion having a suspension and a steam passage and a portion without holes in the lower side where the foodstuffs are loaded. <P>SOLUTION: The steamer for the cooking pot includes a cooking pot, heating means for heating the cooking pot, and a steamer housed within the cooking pot. The steamer has an outer member and an inner member. The outer member includes the suspension suspended on the upper side of the cooking pot, and a plurality of openings between the outer member and the inner member. The inner member has a dish-shaped member having no perforation and having an opening upper end, and is disposed within the outer member as a separate body from the outer member or integrally with the outer member. In cooking foodstuffs, the foodstuffs within the inner member are steamed with the steam generated within the cooking pot.
