<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt skew correcting device which is made compact by imparting a plurality of functions to a single roller and is advantageous to cost reduction since the number of components is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to the belt skew correcting device that corrects a skew of an endless belt wrapped around a plurality of rollers and driven, wherein at least one of the rollers is composed as an inclinable steering roller, a roller shaft displacing member capable of changing the inclination angle of the roller according to an amount of skew of the endless belt is included, and the steering roller inclines at the angle that balances the inclination of the steering roller caused by the skew of the endless belt. The steering roller is a roller opposite to a cleaning member that cleans the surface of the belt.
