<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate detection system having a diagonal coordinate calculation method for correcting an influence of an external resistance component. <P>SOLUTION: A coordinate input system includes: a linear resistive peripheral electrode 13 having equal resistance values per unit length; detection electrodes 14 to 17 arranged at four vertices of a rectangular coordinate input area 18 so as to be electrically brought into contact with the resistive peripheral electrode 13; current measurement means for measuring currents flowing in the four detection electrodes 14 to 17; coordinate calculation means for, when a position in the coordinate input area 18 is pointed with a finger 21, calculating a position in the coordinate input area 18 pointed with the finger 21 from values of currents running through the four detection electrodes 14 to 17; and determination and recognition means for determining whether one point is pointed with one finger 21 or two different points are pointed with two fingers 21 in the coordinate input area 18 from the values of currents running through the four detection electrodes 14 to 17, and for, when it is determined that the two points are pointed with the two fingers 21, recognizing a relative motion performed by the two fingers 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
